Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone have a full body scan?
Before your exam we will provide a few recommendations to ensure the most accurate results:
- It is not recommended for pregnant women and patients with a pacemaker, or who use insulin pumps
- Avoid physical training and sauna before the test
- Avoid coffee or sugary food for around 2 hours beforehand
- Do not smoke at least 30 minutes beforehand
How often should you do a full body scan?
We recommend carrying out the measurements every 3 months in order to be able to document changes in the long term. But this time frame can change depending on your specific objectives:
- Weight reduction programme - every 2-4 weeks
- Stress management programme - every 4 weeks
- Sports improvement programme - every 4 weeks
For an even better understanding, please bring your latest blood analysis. Or we can initiate a blood analysis here according to your goals.
Is the full body scan accurate?
The full body scan is carried out by Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), one of the most precise and recognized methods of body composition analysis.
In combination with our individual stress level check, based on heart rate variability and how the patient’s body burns fat and carbohydrates using spirometry, our medical team will have the perfect insights to advise you. They will recommend the right intensity of training, the appropriate nutrition and the optimal treatments according to your personal goals, not to mention the decisive degree of regeneration.
How is the full body scan done?
A weak electrical current will flow through four electrodes; from one foot to one hand, to measure resistance in the body. In this way it becomes visible how high the muscle, water and fat content in the body is.
Unlike other measurements, you do not have to undress for this. Only electronic devices, jewellery and watches have to be taken off.
The analysis takes about 20 minutes and it is important that you have not eaten or drunk anything 2 hours before the analysis. Ideally you won’t have exercised for 24 hours beforehand either, otherwise the results will be falsified.
