What is International Stress Awareness Week?
International Stress Awareness Week was created in 2018 to raise awareness about stress prevention. Stress Awareness Day (on 3rd November) is the highlight of the week, and this year marks 23 years since the day was established in 1998.
With the world still in the grip of the pandemic, stress and anxiety has never been more prevalent, with stress around illness, work, redundancy and other factors playing a large part in many people’s lives right now.
International Stress Awareness week aims to shine a light on experiences people have with mental health challenges, and explores what can be done to help them. There is also a focus on the role of stress management professionals in alleviating stress, with practical and proven techniques for building resilience. This year will also highlight the actions which need to be taken in the light of the pandemic and workplace changes such as hybrid working. It’s about ensuring that those suffering from stress know where they can find advice and support.
Managing Stress
When it comes to dealing with stress, the NHS recommends tips such as splitting up big tasks, talking to someone, planning ahead, focusing on the positives in your life, and being more active.
But as well as all of the above, studies prove that restoring levels of NAD+ in your cells has benefits for your brain and body, including alleviating chronic stress.
How does NAD+ alleviate stress?
NAD stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and it is one of the most crucial molecules in cellular metabolism. NAD+ not only helps convert food to energy, but it ensures the functioning of our defensive genes to help the body and protects us from aging and disease. NAD+ is essential for life, and for good health. It is directly linked to how energetic we feel, and boosts the body’s ability to recover from stress and strain.
Over time, our body’s NAD+ levels naturally decline, but luckily there are things that can be done to boost your NAD+ levels, which can help to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression. NAD+ has been shown to be highly effective in elevating mood and decreasing feelings of stress and anxiety.
NAD+ IV infusions go straight to your bloodstream to replenish your levels of NAD+, so you get the benefits of NAD more quickly than you might with other delivery systems (such as the oral route). As well as reducing stress, depression and anxiety, NAD+ therapy can also fight the physical effects of ageing, combat chronic fatigue and sleep disturbances, and help relieve you of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
