How To Manage And Reduce Stress

Stress has unfortunately become part of everyday life and for many of us, the jobs we have and the lives we lead are just conducive to stress. But stress can be extremely damaging to our bodies if we experience it long-term.

Chronic stress over a prolonged period of time, elevates the heart rate and elevates levels of stress hormones that contributes to long-term health problems such as:

  • Insomnia & chronic fatigue
  • High blood sugar
  • High blood pressure
  • Weakened immune system
  • Fertility issues
  • Lack of sex drive
  • Stomach & digestive issues

With that in mind, it’s imperative we take steps to try and reduce and manage stress, even if we can’t eliminate it completely…

Eat healthily

A healthy diet can reduce your risk of certain diet-related diseases but there is also growing evidence that certain foods affect our mood and concentration. A healthy diet also ensures you’re getting the right amount of essential vitamins and nutrients for brain function and clarity.

Get more sleep

Being stressed can actually cause insomnia which in turn leads to more stress. It can be quite the vicious cycle. But there are things you can do to improve your sleep and combat fatigue and get your energy back. Investing in a smart watch can help you track your sleep and see how much you’re getting to give you a good benchmark or where you’re at.

Reduce your alcohol intake

Whilst it may be tempting to reach for an alcoholic beverage to unwind at the end of a long, stressful day, alcohol actually increases anxiety symptoms which are often associated with stress. So in the short-term you may find some relief but in the long-term, it’s going to leave you feeling worse.

Exercise regularly

Exercise reduces levels of the body’s stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol whilst at the same time, boosting the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body’s natural painkillers and mood elevators. Even light exercise such as a brisk walk has been known to alleviate stress symptoms.

NAD+ IV therapy

IV infusions are a fantastic way to alleviate the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Our Executive High Flyer Plus IV infusion program is specifically designed for those with stressful jobs that require consistently high performance and sustained energy. Alternatively, if you’re looking to implement some of the tips we outlined above, such as reducing your alcohol consumption, fighting fatigue or ensuring you’re getting enough vitamins and nutrients, we have specialist NAD+ IV infusions available to help.
