Today is the third Monday of January, which means it’s Blue Monday. The day was awarded this gloomy title due to a combination of cold weather and dark nights, post-Christmas blues, and the unwanted arrival of unpaid credit card bills. Apparently, a university professor managed to precisely calculate it as the most depressing day of the year.

While clinical depression is a serious mental health issue that is not to be made slight of, Blue Monday has become somewhat of an awareness day for mental health issues as opposed to a marketing gimmick. So, we have decided to shed some light on the huge positive impacts that NAD+ can have to your physical wellbeing, which in turn can help with your mental health. We are not claiming our treatments will “cure” your depression, simply stating why the health benefits of NAD+ can help you feel better physically, which in turn can help your mental health.

As humans, when we feel our best physically it has a positive impact on our overall wellbeing and outlook. When you’re feeling fatigued, lacking in energy and not looking after your body, your mind suffers as a consequence.

So Where Does NAD+ Come In?

NAD+ is a coenzyme that plays a vital role in your health, whether it repairs your enzymes or works as an anti-aging stimulator. If you do not have enough of the coenzyme NAD+, you are susceptible to certain diseases, a lack of energy and clarity, and a slowing of your metabolism. This can, and often does, make you feel lethargic, down and irritable.

NAD+ is a key player in making ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) – the source of energy in the cell. ATP is the principal molecule for storing and transferring energy in cells, often known as the “molecular currency” of energy transfer. When you feel less fatigued and full of energy it helps your mental wellbeing as much as your physical.

By having NAD+ infusion therapy, you can negate these symptoms and increase your mental and physical clarity. Furthermore, NAD+ can restore your sleep pattern. When your sleep is disturbed, it can have a dramatic impact on your mental wellbeing. Your sleep and wake cycle and everything it entails depends on NAD+. When your body has more NAD+, your sleeping pattern stands a much better chance of being stable and consistent.

Have Less Blue Mondays, And More NAD+

NAD+ therapy will not flick a switch and make you feel “happier” – but it will help your body and make you feel healthy, more energised and well rested. If you want to find out more, check out our resources on the science of NAD+, which explain how it works on your body.
